Kerry would be the President now by a landslide
A poll taken from BBC.co.uk has the following results, Kerry's number is first, Bush's is second
Norway: 74%-7%
Germany: 74%-10%
France: 64%-5%
Italy: 58%-14%
Spain: 45%-7%
UK: 47%-16%
Canada: 61%-16%
Mexico: 38%-18%
Brazil: 57%-14%
China: 52%-12%
Japan: 43%-32%
Indonesia: 57%-34%
India: 34%-33%
Philippines: 32%-57%
Poland: 26%-31%
Thailand: 30%-33%
This is why the rest of the world can't figure out why he just got voted in.
Obviously the reason for the lack of results going up to 100% is because of other options such as 'Wouldn't vote', 'Nader', etc.

Damn. Nobody like Bush huh?
Now, were all the voters educated in the stances of all other candidates or did they vote simply becuase the other candidates aren't Bush?

I'd say a lot of it was down to the Anti-Bush stance the rest of the world has
If a bunch of people told you 2+2=5 would you believe it if a massive number of people said it was so? Right is right and wrong is wrong period no matter what limp wristed, backwater, has been or never was, socialist country says.

Off course. Everyone always liked us before 2000.
Remind me, how can the rest of the world not understand how Bush was re-elected? He won more votes in more states than Kerry. It's not that hard.

Yeah, they can't understand why he got more votes than Kerry though
Not only are you guys in huge debt, involved in wars for the wrong reasons, have a guy in charge that is the most hated guy in the Middle East since Carter but the guy is quite frankly an idiotic fool.

yeah really that made absolutely no sense
I think he was defending Bush and the war and slating other countries for having a negative opinion of Bush (due to the press?), but he could be talking about doughnuts for all I know.

I'm pretty sure he wasn't talking from a logistical view douche.
It's pretty obvious that he meant "How could so many people vote for him?"
If you're gonna give someone a hard time about something, at least put a little effort into it.

You missed the point.
How did i miss the point?
Outside of the UK and Japan there is a list of a bunch of Socialist or Dictator counties. Lets look at a few of that wonderful list of enlightened countires
China- You got to be kidding they slaughter people for having opinions. Im sure they were told how to vote when asked, probably with a gun to their heads
Thailand- Do they even know what a vote is? Isnt that the country where public whippings are still allowed?
Indonesia- Indonesia was actually typed for reasonable people with any knowledge to take serious
France- A country that invented the word surrender and whos goverment was taking kickbacks from Saddam
Italy- See France outside the fact they are to lazy to even surrender
India- Yeah a country thats tipping on nuclear diaster with Pakistan.
Thats as far as i will go because its not worth that much effort to rip apart. The fact is if the rest of the world was that damn enlightened and they wouldnt be who and what they are third world and dictatorships
As for Maniacs comment...
You should ask yourself that same question every single day college guy. Let me guess your professor is your hero right? The wonderful openminded Democrats were slashing the tires of Republicans to prevent them doing their jobs up here in Madison. Such a wonderful little group of people you agree with there college boy. Maybe someday when you actually grow up and have to live a real life without mommy and daddy, then maybe just maybe things will clear up some. Sadly you will probably always be one of those people who think that reason is what drives this world when the plain and simple fact is that its not.
Hey Maniac i got an idea! Why dont you transfer andgo be a student in the enlightened country of China to protest. Last time i checked they run students over with tanks. :)
You have issues mate. And your points in that post are pretty poor to say the least. You can't go generalising on all those countries just because their general political opinion on George Bush is different from yours. Maybe your post convinved yourself that your beliefs are right, but to the rest of us you just made yourself look like a prat. Whether you like it or not, the world for the most part doesn't like Bush, and has a difficult time understanding how he won the election.
On a personal note, I've noticed how heavy-handed you are when trying to give us your opinion on political issues, and rather than give your opinions chance to strike a chord with anyone, your arrogance is immediately off putting to the extent that I personally tend to think "Oh shut up" when reading your posts. To summarise, you make yourself look like an idiot.

Raph, are you actually making fun of me for going to college? Wow, good one. You really got me there. I feel totally stupid for getting paid $16,000 to go to college!

These two of three replies show the wonderful intellectual response to what i said with
sheck taking up the lead for simple minded statement of the day with Maniac a close second
As for Maniac- Yeah i make fun of your little college education when is see there is some college out there investing 16,000 in a guy who has his head stuck up his peverbial bung hole :)
As for Indi- I actually dont have issues there mate. Im just replying with my admitted strong opinion on what is just a computer screen. My "generalizations" are no worse then anybody on here doing their own, like some brits on this page in the past when they go off in left field about my country.
Sheck- Don't know who you are, dont really care. All i ask is you live at home for the rest of your life so the rest of us don't have support you ;)
Take these comments for what you will but im sure two of three will actually get mad which is funny in itself.

Hey genius i know you're a bit young but its called the Tiananmen Square Massacre. Go read a history book once in awhile instead of working on your rosy palm all day.

Uhh, yeah. The Tiananmen Square Massacre has about....nothing to do with this, or any other argument in this thread. Unless your line of thinking is that the Massacre (which took place a good 15 years ago, I might add) shows that the Chinese government is an inhumane and fascist (and ultimately evil, I'm sure) one, and a country like that isn't as fit to form a well-thought-out opinion about another country's election as, say, Finland.
Maybe that's way off, I'm not sure. I've had a bit of a hard time making out exactly what you've been trying to say in this thread.

Hey T it actually does when rosy palm up there said my comment about China running students over with tanks was "insane", when that is exactly what the same Chinese goverment did thats in power today. Actually if those polls are fact im even happier Kerry got hit ass kicked because if Kerry is there choice that really is all the more troubling in itself.
What ive been trying to say is i find it funny that somehow all these countries opinions are of such value when most of those same countrys are in themselves a disgrace in many ways.

Because America has never done anything to embarass itself
Because America has never done anything to embarass itself
Embarrass how exactly? I dont sit here trying to say every choice this administration is making is perfect but when you look at the big picture they are doing what must be done.
Some people think we went into Iraq for some of these reasons....
1. Bush Jr. had a personal grudge against Sadam
2. Went in there for oil and oil prices
3. Went in there for WMDs
I believe the actual reason we went in there is to have a jumping off point in the region because since Desert Storm there was always the issue of where to land our aircraft and stationing troops. Also in doing this we get to weed out a a throne in the worlds side in Saddam. The bizzare but interesting thing is now Irag has become like a magnet to every muslim extremist wishing to bring down the USA. So instead of fighting them in the streets of LA or London we get them concentrated over there to fight. So you tell me which is better?

Why do America need a 'jumping off point' in that region? When the Soviets did that with Cuba it almost ended the world, and of course the military base in the Mediterranean is obviously so far away from the Middle East >_>
Saddam hasn't actually been a threat to anyone but his own people since the end of the first Gulf War, there are a lot bigger threats to world safety and shockingly some of them actually have weapons of mass destruction
It is amazing how these terrorists/muslim extremists are both all over the world in little networks plotting the demise of the Western world and all congregated in Iraq at the same time. I wouldn't say that Iraq was a magnet, I'd say the Western Powers that were involved in the war created a lot more than there were originally. Killing their families, making a mockery of their religion and traditions and trying to force 'democracy' and 'capitalism' onto themhas that sort of effect you know.

Well if you want to go through other countries histories and bring up every bad thing they've ever done as an example of how they govern and treat protestors... We could start with slavery, stopping off at the Veterans protest in Washington after WW2 and finish with the Enron scandal, they'd be lots of other stops along the way as well... Could be a long journey ;)

Let me see here.....
1. When was slavery abolished(my great great grandfather was in school)? When did China put tank treads on students chests(i was in middle school)? Upwards of well over a 100 years of difference. Nice comparison there mate, obviously you failed math.
2. Enron is a private company you dolt, not a country. You blame the United States because a private company defrauds their membership. When did private companies become governing bodies? I must of missed that meeting. You obviously didnt pay attention when that whole thing was going on.
3. By the way what were these Veterans protesting? The fall of Hitler? Im kind of curious since this is apparently the least talked about topic ever. Give me raw data or at least a halfway believeable story. You sure they were not protesting the policies of the country of Enron? ;)
Your post was reaching so much it fell flat on its face.
P.S. Who are you? Im curious to know the previous identity of the one who laid that poop pile of reasoning on my plate for me to swallow.

1. That was supposed to be a far reaching point, you were grasping at straws by using something that happened once as an example of something that happens all the time, so I exaggerated facts in relation to time scale
2. And the US Government knew absolutely nothing about >_>
3. http://www.u-s-history.com/pages/h1513.html
Its about WW1, not WW2, typo or something

No what the difference between the two is the SAME PEOPLE WHO DID THOSE THINGS ARE IN POWER RIGHT NOW and the ones who justified slavery in the US have been wormfood for nearly a century and a half. Theres the difference.
Now if Robert E. Lee rose from the dead and took a stance in todays world i would concede to your point
So what your saying is everything you said on the Enron thing was just guesswork and assumtions based on your left leaning viewpoints of the world
Finally you never answered my question of who you are since you knew ive been around since ground zero of this merry little band of posters

Actually, you're wildly incorrect. China elected a new President in 2003, Hu Jintao. Deng Xiaoping was in charge of the country in 1989. There are few people who are part of the Party now that were around in 1989.
Not that it matters who I am, but I was Five Moves Of Doom, I wouldn't have thought it was overly difficult to ascertain.

I was leaning toward Five Moves Of Marx but i couldnt be sure if a new commie had come out of the closet
As for China...
I know your a commie and all Pariah but do you honestly think they had a free and open election? Its no different when the soviets used to hold elections and every choice led to the same result. In China i dont care if Jackie Fuckin Chan is leading in the polls the same ruling force will win each and everytime because they have the guns and the stomach to kill anyone who gets in their way
Don't mean to be nosy but why the change to Pariah since Five Moves Of Marx was better.
