The Burning Hammer is such a stupid move to have as a regular every-match finisher. Everyone who has that as a regular every-match finisher is stupid.

Yeah, I don't think it should be used all the time...and although Maff uses it a bit too often, he doesn't use it in every match.

i don't think it's stupid when it's sold the way it is by most wrestlers in ROH. i can actually see it as a legitimate finiher and most ROH fans have come to accept it as legit finisher. it gets me on my feet at least. dan maff is an awesome wrestler. in my opinion, he's one of the best (and unfortunately underrated) wrestlers there. then again, that's just the perspective i have formed from live shows because i don't read the ROH board.

I think what Maniac is getting at is the fact that the Burning Hammer is seen as one of pro wrestling's sacred moves, particularly in Japan where Kenta Kobashi has used about five times throughout his career and only on special occasions/huge matches. The fact that someone like Maff uses the move so often demeens the move greatly.

Yeah, that's what I was getting at. Not only that, but it's such a dangerous move... it could easily severely injure someone to the point where they'd never be able to wrestle again.

Are RoH mats super-springy, or what? It looks like a trampoline for a few seconds after someone lands a move. Which I guess would be a good thing, considering the kind of bumps a lot of those guys take.

Ouch.

It's an impressive move, but I fear for the safety of the wrestler who takes the Burning Hammer. Especially if something goes awry.

yes

If you are at an ROH show and your line of vision is level with the ring apron you can see that the mat is totally concave.
