Seeing as my work is in the process of rendering, and I'm not going to get it done until at least very early/late in the morning, I've decided to keep myself awake via my FIRST EVER!!!! WWE PPV as it happens review.

Well, as it happens means after the matches take place, as the PC is in a different room.

Anyway. Let's get it ON!

Eugene & Regal vs Christian & Tomko

First time seeing Tomko, aaand, does he actually do anything much? Then again, no one really did anything much. Eugene hulked up, and eventually more or less cheated to win, but that's OK, because he's mentally challenged and a face.

Winners: Eugene & Regal

Lita vs Trish

One of the most anticipated Women's Title rematches you can remember JR? Well, that must be worth something. Lita breaks her leg. Trish makes little to no point of going after it, and wins with a kick.

Winner: Trish

Shelton Benjamin vs Maven

Maven talks, talks some more, says he doesn't like Spanish people, walks away. NO! comes back, and, gets rolled up. That'll show him.

Thought that could be a decent match as well. Pah.

Winner: SHelton Benjamin

Maven disses Shelton some more, and Shelton beats him again.

Winner: Shelton Benjamin

Jerry Lawler vs Mohammed Hussan

Whoever decided this match would benefit from no commentary was seriously misguided. In fact, whoever decided this match should take place was seriously misguided. Hussan wins after whatever the move he did was took place.

Winner: Hussan

Kane vs Snitsky

Probably match of the night so far, though that isn't really saying much. Kane won with a tombstone. The elimination chamber better be good, or this'll've been one of the worst things I've watched in a while.

Winner: Kane

Elimination Chamber

More or less saved the night, though I did fall asleep during the match. This can be forgiven though, as it's half past three in the morning, and I'm ready for some sleep. No HHH/Batista fall out. Just a Triple H victory. Great. He didn't even tap out to the crossface/walls of jericho combo.

Winner: Triple H.

Hahahaha, it makes so little sense for Triple H to win that match. God damnit. So very little sense.

yeesh. this sounds like it sucked. did lita really break her leg or was it just an angle?

and i think i speak for all of us here at BK.com when i say THANK GOD HHH has the belt again.

It makes sense if they build HHH up with someone to lose it to at, say, Wrestlemania. Perhaps, oh, Dave Batista?

Remember, 2005 is the year of the DAVE.

I heard both Eugene and Lita have injured their knees/legs in their matches. Eugene's injury is knee-cap related, I think. Lita, don't know.

But what was the point of him losing the belt if he was just going to regain it the first chance he got? They could've easily ran the Batista angle without wasting Benoit, Orton, Jericho, and Edge's time in this match.

Trish

yes she did. she started kicking it and put Lita in a leg submission.

Like a minute after the submission move Lita's leg gave out on her, allowing Trish to hit the Chick Kick.

Also... it kind of looked like it may have been real. One of the leg injuries has to be... there's no way that they booked that to happen two matches in a row.

Jerry Lawler vs Mohammed Hussan

Whoever decided this match would benefit from no commentary was seriously misguided.

that was the only good thing about the match. We were able to hear all of the hilarious stuff that Divari shouted. It was the only entertaining thing about the match, and none of it would have been heard with commentary. Hearing Divari yell "JR, you fat Oklahoma slob!" (amongst other things) during the match was great.

Kane vs Snitsky

Probably match of the night so far,

I'm going to have to disagree. This match was just as bad as King/Hassan and we all agreed that it tied for worst of the night.

Well, there was the whole thing with HHH having a chance to help Batista and then not helping and Batista tapping out because of it.

And of course HHH didn't tap out to that double submission. The point was to show that Batista was a good soldier. He got released and immediately rushed out to break it up... that was the whole point of the thing. They needed to get over that Batista helped HHH when he was in a submission, but that HHH didn't help when Batista was in one.

Hahahaha, it makes so little sense for Triple H to win that match. God damnit. So very little sense.

What the fuck? They've been building to something between him and Orton or (more likely in my opinion) him and Batista at Wrestlemania for months now. Of course he should win the belt. Even the poll at pwinsider.com (taken by internet HHH haters) acknowledges that putting the belt on HHH was the best thing to do for the build to Mania. It makes perfect sense, and I think that the logic i used earlier in this thread shows that.

But what was the point of him losing the belt if he was just going to regain it the first chance he got? They could've easily ran the Batista angle without wasting Benoit, Orton, Jericho, and Edge's time in this match.

it was done just to make things interesting. Vacate the title and create controversy so that there is a reason to have the 6-man elimination chamber match. I'm sure that the chamber match sold more PPVs than wasting Orton/HHH or Batista/HHH here instead of at Mania. The only other fresh option available for a still champion HHH at this PPV would have been Edge... but they're probably going to give Edge the title shot at the Rumble as set up here by HBK screwing him out of the Chamber match. Then Edge gets HBK at WrestleMania.

Good point well made. Even though i am SOOO pissed off with trips being champ again, it does make sense to keep the build up going a wee bit longer........

I'm posting as the RAW pillowfight is about to happen.

It looks like I was wrong about Edge/HHH at the Rumble... and it looks like HBK/Edge will be at the rumble instead of mania.

Ergh.

Flair can kiss that 16 time world champ fame goodbye. HHH is going to surpass his record in no time.

And that Diva pillow fight sucked. Maria didn't give me much skin...and I find the red head extremely irritating.

The Chamber match was a bit anti-climatic. I think the hot crowd made the most of a pretty dull match, and leaving Batista/HHH/Orton killed the flow and pace of the match. There's no way Batista shouldve been there towards the end if there wasn't going to be any confrontation. On the other hand, Benoits top of the chamber swandive was pretty cool, not cool enough to warrent spending 45 minutes watching the match though.

I thought the match was really good.

And leaving Batista in until the final three was very important. He did the work of eliminating the other two guys for HHH, and then HHH didn't save him. It was an important part of the story.

yup, still can't believe HHH won though

It was obvious Trips would win before the PPV.. so it's no suprise he did, and as has been said, it's the most logical thing... least its building towards something.

Batista vs HHH is becoming what the fans want and are looking forward to.. which is exactly how these things should be. If only theyde have done the slow building turn with Orton..

By Raws fan response last night it was hard to tell who was the face and who was the heel. I don't think Orton really got booed but he didn't get a very good pop either, Batista got a bigger one. Maybe it was just my imagination though.

Oh and it's got nothing to do with the ppv but it was great when HBK punked out those bastards chanting "you screwed bret". They actually shut up after that to, HA!

Did you hear those same punks chanting, "You Screwed Chyna" to Hunter during the main event? That was priceless.

that was hilarious

then HHH got this grin on his face like he wanted to laugh but he held it back
