So, I just applied for another position within my company. It's not my dream job, but it will come with a 80% raise from where I'm at right now. And the stress will be almost nullified. Ive put in for a position as a grounds crew supervisor. The only problems I can see are the hours 6am-3pm and if it snows, I could very well be called in at 1am if needed. The job has been posted since 8/16 and nobody has applied yet so as far as I can tell, my chances are pretty darn good. Of course this means I'll be on BK a lot less, but as we all know the almighty dollar rules.
This job would help me get "set" in my life, enough money for a house, to take care of some past bills, let Paula stay home all day and be able to start a family. So, if all goes well, there'll more than likely be a Phreek JR running around a new house soon.
Damn this "growing up" shit is a pain in the balls.

Good Luck man.. ;)
Seriously.. all the best.

Dude good luck.
Your making one mistake though. Don't let the woman stay home. To much trouble she could get into.
Good luck brother.
Yeah, growing up sucks.

With all the laundry cooking and cleaning that needs to be done, she won't have time for trouble. Until I get home *wink wink nudge nidge*

Damn, your really on your way up if everything works out, hope it does. Your a planner...that's good stuff. And planning on a little Phreek JR? nice. I always planned on having a kid some day...and then it happened, maybe ten years before I expected it but no matter. I love the hell out of the little sugar. Still I definitly don't want any more kids until I'm in my mid 30's...or 40's...or 50's...or 6...ah, I probably won't even live to be in my 60's but whatever.

Nah man, pop 'em out now. If you pop 'em out to late, they'll be in your house till you're 60, you don't want to be retired and still have to deal with teenagers do you? Plus, I've always been a firm believer in having kids within a few years oif each other. I'm a middle child, my older brother is 6 years older and my younger is 6 years younger. We were never close and pretty much can't stand each other. I think if there was less time between us, we'd have bonded a little more and would be better friends right now. Just a little wisdom from Phreeks dome for ya. enjoy.

Yeah, there is a good ten years between my brother and I and we barely speak to each other and have pretty much nothing in common, which I put down to the age difference between us.
Good luck with the job, shame to see you surcoming to the power of the 'almighty' dollar

yeah, dude. it's totally a shame that's surcoming to the power of the almighty dollar to make a better life for his wife/fiance (whatever phreek and his girl are) and future kid. fuck, what a scumbag for trying to make a few extra bucks. seriously, who does he think he is?

Well, regardless of who's right or wrong, the word you're thinking of is 'succumb', not 'surcome.'

Yeah, I knew it was wrong. I was just spelling it phonetically as I couldn't be bothered to look it up.

Yeah, I'd rather work much harder than my neighbor and still get paid the same amount.

I got no problems succuming to the almighty dollar. It can't buy happiness but it can buy lots of other cool things.
80%...Damn that is what I call a raise!
Good luck! and for the record there is NOTHING wrong with the woman staying home. Especially if she is raising the family... there are too many moms that have to work.

Hell truth be told, I'd rather stay at home all day, but i don't see that happening. We've always said that once I start to make enough for her to stay home that she would. Honestly, I'm probably more excited than her. No more laundry, groceries, bills, etc.. for me.
Yeah, I'm not exactly making peanuts right now either, so %80 would help a great deal. What's annoying though is that if I were making what I'm making now anywhere else in the country we'd be set. But here in Massachusettes, we can barely afford a condo :( Oh well, if everything works out, I'll be swimming in cash soon enough.
Sitting pretty like Scrooge McDuck.
