Just seen the first shots of this, and it DOES look impressive, but lets hope they can a: Flesh out the roster a bit
b: Make the story mode a bit more long lasting (sorted apparently)
c: Make it a tad more challenging - the new momentum meter should help
with this.
d: ACTUALLY MAKE A FUCKING DECENT CREATE A PLAYER!

This time hardcore elements have a significant effect, with each wrestler rated based on size, experience with the tools (oo-er) and ability, so Triple H will be just a tad more effective with a hammer than say, Torrie Wilson, and likewise RVD will be the daddy with a chair. Thats not all however, in that now, stamina will play a genuine part, with those players who constantly use big/cheap moves punishe. Thq hope this will make the game feel more like the ebb and flow of a "real" wrestling match. Could be good, could be a nightmare, more as i get it.......

Any thoughts?

I haven't really like any wrestling games since No Mercy, although I bought RAW 2 for some reason.

My favorite part of wrestling games is making and using CAWs... but it annoys me everytime a new game comes out because I have to start all over from scratch creating characters. Sometimes it takes hours to create these guys with the look, the entrance, the moves... and then a new game comes out and they're gone.

I wish that new games could read the CAWs off of the old game so that I don't have to redo everything.

I'll probably borrow the game from a friend, and if I like it I'll buy it. I won't blind buy Wrestling games anymore.

No mercy was tight. I loved playing that royal rumble option. It took awhile but was always a blast. I always used my created wrestler "jizzumup" for that. He was 7'0 feet tall, 275lbs, wore a different color kane mask, carried the pimp cane, and had orange attire, no shoes, and a black bandana. He used the burning hammer as a finisher and the frog splash. He was great. A true hero.

some of my favorite games are the old WCW based THQ games that came out on the N64

No Mercy, Fire Pro and King of Colloseum are all you need when it comes to wrestling games.

I'll still no doubt buy the new Smackdown though.

I'd add the Toukon Retsuden and Giant Gram games to that list, but I'm not sure how many here besides myself have actually played them.

I'm sure no one gives a crap... but here are some pictures of CAWs I designed for RAW 2. Just scroll down until you see pics.

I didn't copy any off of the internet. That's cheating.

Ooh, yes, I've played Giant Gram on the DC, it was great, but very short lived. At best, matches go about three minutes, which is pretty disappointing really. Had some great fast paced bouts with my brother though.
